Make a wish with ICON Wish!
We all love an amazing superhero. We keep looking forward to the next release of our favorite movie wishing our superhero becomes greater. We make wishes on our birthdays, and we share wishes with friends and family on big holidays and festivities. We all have wishful thinking, sometimes, and wishes tie our worlds together. In other words, wishes hyperconnect the world.
That said, who could have ever thought that your wishes could become immutable, all thanks to blockchain technology! Even better, who could have thought that your wishes can earn you a reward. Making wishes has never been more immutably rewarding. Renov of the Draiconball team has been putting his work to making some of these wishes come true.
With the support of David (of the Draiconball team), Renov has put together a Wish board that allows you to make a wish. The platform, ICON Wish, is simple to use, and allows ICONists to weight their wishes with ICX and earn rewards based on the likes they receive and their weighting. Yet, beyond just ICONists, Renov has thought about blockchain enthusiasts in general and allows for free wishes which still reflect on the platform but do not enjoy the privilege of earning ICX.
The platform has already received applause from the ICON community and support from some amazing P-Rep candidates, including coverage by ICON Nation in their popular show “By ICONists, for ICONists” (check out the episode here: By ICONists, for ICONists — Episode 3)
In a brief Q&A with Renov, we learnt about the platform and would love to let you in on it. Here’s the exclusive:
Q: What is ICONwish?
A: Icon Wish Board is a service for Iconists to permanently record their wishes on blockchain and to share them with the community.
Q: How can one access ICONwish?
A: You can access it at iconwish.com
Q: How far are you in the project?
A: The Wish Board has been in the development phase for a little over a month and has just recently been launched. We continuously receive feedback from the community and make necessary changes to the platform. We encourage users to try the Wish Board and let us know how to improve it because this is a project just for them.
Q: What metrics are you using to measure success?
A: There are currently about 20,000~30,000 members in the ICON community considering the telegram channels, reddit, medium, and kakao talk. For a start, we would like to enable at least 2,000, about 10% of the number, to make a wish. If we can achieve 2,000 wishes on the Wish Board, we shall regard this as a big success. We’re doing this for the community, and it will be beautiful to see them enjoying using the platform and making as many wishes as they’d like.
Q: How many users are you targeting and which demographic are you interested in the ICON ecosystem?
A: The Wish Board is very simple to use and there is an option to post wishes without requiring a transaction fee. If a user chooses to post without this fee, there is no action needed from the dApp, for example, signing the transaction. This means that we are not only hoping to serve ICON community members. We’d also like to serve any and all other users from other blockchain communities as well. The Wish Board dApp was created as a way to create awareness for the ICON network. By creating this awareness, we also aim to help the community become more familiar with ICON dApps and help along with user experience. For example, to fully enjoy the experience of Wish Board, one would need to install and connect to ICONex wallet. We believe this type of experience from using ICON Wish Board will help ICON’s dApp ecosystem flourish.
